On 06/06/2022, moisture-related work began at the Sutton & Epsom Rugby Club building. During our inspection, We found the walls on the ground floor of the building to be very damp; the hygrometer measurements indicated 11% to 19% moisture in the walls, which means that the 340mm walls contained about 70-140 litres of water.

We proposed to Sutton & Epsom Rugby club owners to dry out the walls before carrying out the works by taking off existing render and installing dehumidifiers in each room where We discovered moisture. The dehumidifiers operated for more than six weeks, and during this time, they managed to extract approximately 2,000 litres of water from all rooms.

To give the client confidence in our work and the quality of the products used, we offered an insurance back guarantee for ten years with the possibility of renewal. Thanks to Triton Systems, where we are registered as an approved contractor, we had such an opportunity.

As already mentioned, the first step was removing the existing render and installing dehumidifiers. Then we moved on to drilling with a 12mm drill at 100mm, which enabled us to inject Triton TriCream unique silicone emulsion cream into brickwork to control rising dampness. In other rooms, we used Crystalline Injections from our company to stop rising dampness; in this case, we had to drill 22mm diameter holes at 80mm intervals to allow us to inject the product into the walls.

Once we managed to stop the rising dampness, we moved on to re-plastering the walls in places previously damp. The plaster we apply is fully waterproof, thanks to the TriMix1 integral waterproofer from Triton Systems and the waterproof barrier in the form of TT55 Tanking Slurry from Tritons Systems. We have also applied anti lime inhibitor onto the fresh render to stop hygroscopic salts from coming through.

After 30 days after the end of the project, the walls were re-inspected; this time, the hygrometer showed only 4% to 5%, which means that our diagnosis and the system of works performed were correct. The client received guarantees from our company for 20 years, and an insurance back guarantee certificate for ten years from Triton Systems.

This project was fully completed nine weeks after it started, thanks to Sutton & Epsom Rugby Club for making us feel welcome there.
