Penetrating Damp
When we notice moss, mold, algae and lichen outside the building, we call it Penetrating Damp
Penetrating Damp occurs mostly on unprotected facades, such as old buildings (100 or 200 years), where the insulation was made of materials less resistant to moisture or cracks. When the masonry is covered with plaster with an inappropriate mix of sand and cement, cracks may occur which may cause Penetrating Damp.
When wet patches are visible on the external or internal walls, then we deal with the problem of penetrating moisture.
