Even the most reputable and established businesses can face unforeseen circumstances, such as retirement, unexpected closure or financial difficulties. If a contractor ceases trading, their standard written guarantee effectively becomes void.
An IBG acts as your ultimate safety net. In the unlikely event that a defect arises with your installation and we are no longer trading to honour our original guarantee, your QANW policy steps in. The policy ensures the terms of the original guarantee are upheld, covering the cost of putting the issue right using another registered professional.

Manufacturer Product Warranty
Alongside our own guarantee and the QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee, the materials we install are covered by manufacturer product warranties from MAPEI and Wykamol. This gives you a third layer of protection:
- Long-term cover: depending on the product and system, MAPEI warranties can run for up to 30 years on membranes and 10 years on other products.
- Protection against manufacturing defects: the products are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects and not to break down or deteriorate under normal use for the full warranty period.
- Domestic and commercial projects: the warranty applies to both homes and commercial properties.
- Complete system cover: when a full MAPEI system is installed, a valid claim covers replacement products plus reasonable labour costs for the affected area, not just the materials.
- Installed the right way: the warranty depends on correct installation in line with the manufacturer’s technical data sheets and British Standards. As qualified specialists, we install every product exactly to these requirements, so your warranty stays valid.
Full protection together: a manufacturer’s warranty covers the products, while our own guarantee and the QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee cover the workmanship. Together, they protect both the materials and the work.
